A downloadable tech test for Windows

Three tech tests for an adventure game! Each features a few very short scenes just for testing purposes. So test them! Now that all three are in the wild, it's time to actually try making a gaaaaaame. That link will show up here someday, hopefully.

As you see, I'm learning 3D games in Unreal! I created these prototypes, please download it and tell me how it runs and what you think of the idea.

There's a lot of tiny bugs, don't worry about those. I'm mostly interested in whether it runs OK at these settings, and if you like the basics.

Windows only, at the moment. All character assets are made by me: this is not a Dazdump.

(I know #2 is very large. I know why it is, but it'd take a week to fix it. Since it's a tech test, I'll leave it big and just make sure the next one doesn't have that issue. Obviously it's far too large for what's in it. Thanks, Quixel.)

Content wise, very refreshing and fun. performance wise, Olivia chugged a bit moving around the scene but ran decently, she did T pose at one point and i could no longer interact. Meg in the woods however was very low framerate for me moving around, the animation played back okay but it was sort of slow.

Yup, gonna not repeat those mistakes. Thanks!

The bedroom scene ran well.

The woods scene was a lot choppier. 20FPS when I had control and the motion blur was pretty nasty.

30 to 40 FPS during the cutscenes.

CPU: Intel i7-9700F (running at 4.4GHZ)

GPU: Radeon RX 7600XT (16GB VRAM)

Clearly I'll need to be a lot more careful with the outdoor scenes. Thanks a ton!

The new scene ran pretty well. Some small screen-tearing when moving around (Needs VSync?). After the last cutscene, there was a weird thing where the camera was below crotch-height for the player model.

Great, thanks. I'll have to put in an options menu!

The model is pretty cute, but I think I'll wait to download until there's some more features.  What kind of content do you think you'll add in the future?

It's gonna be running around during halloween, so a bunch of vanilla stuff and cute outfits.

got it to work. had to download external files from microsoft. it runs good. like the other person said, the film thing is very buggy.

Really? What other files? Are you running Windows?

Edit: Visual C++ Runtime, presumably.

Yea, I am running windows, and that is what I had to download.

Thanks!

ran well enough for me.

Great!

Tried to run it.

Error Message: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime needed to run this.

Huh. Hmmmmmm.

Hi, I checked it out and so far it runs decently well. The only bug I noticed is that you can use the "Flim" extra after the main interaction happens, which is a little bit funny without the cute goth girl part but when you restart and find it first everything runs as the scene should! I look forward to seeing how everything plans out for this, cheers~

Nice nice.

The filming is definitely all screwed up at the moment for a lot of reasons, hah!

Well, keep up the good work!
It seems like it’s going to have a lot of good potential 💯

The whole point of this is to see if it runs for everyone. Just comment here.
